Mrs. Marie-Françoise Thévenot, née Macajoux, passed away on December 10, 2014 at 11 AM in New City, NY surrounded by her family. Marie-Françoise was a devout Catholic with an unshakable faith in God and in the power of prayer. She was an active member of the Charismatic Group at Saint Joseph Church in Spring Valley, NY.
Marie-Francoise Thévenot was born in Verrettes, Haiti on July 17, 1933, and was married in 1954 to Edouard Thévenot. She moved with her young family to Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 1968 and was the pioneering member of her family who immigrated alone to the United States in 1970, temporarily leaving behind everything she knew and loved.
Marie-Francoise is survived by her husband of 60 years Edouard Thévenot, 5 children Berthilde, Béatrix, Chantal, Clarel, Sandra, and 5 grandchildren Philippe, Christina, Andrew, Miriam, and Blaise.
The Thévenot family is hosting a viewing at Wanamaker Funeral Home in Suffern, NY from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday December 14, 2014. A funeral service for Marie-Françoise will be held at Saint Joseph Church in Spring Valley at 10:00 AM on Monday December 15, 2014, followed by a reception at the Saint Joseph Church Rectory.
