Mary Bohan, a homemaker, mother and volunteer who had lived in Suffern
since 1946, died on February 23 at her residence.
Born in Cape May, New Jersey, she graduated from Pemberton,
New Jersey High School. During World War II, she was a civilian
mployee of the United States Army at Fort Dix, New Jersey, where
she met her future husband, Frank J. Bohan, Jr. of Suffern.
They were married in December 1945.
She was a Past President of The Woman's Club of Suffern, Inc.
and of the Parents Club of Sacred Heart School.
She worked as a volunteer for numerous civic and charitable
organizations, including Good Samaritan Hospital and Lunch With Love.
A lifelong reading enthusiast, she was employed for many
years in a book store in Suffern and at the Suffern Free Library.
Survivors include her three children, Barry of Deal Island,
Maryland and daughter-in-law Linda Bohan; Robert of Suffern;
and Eileen of Baltimore, Maryland.
