Mildred Ann McElroy

Mildred Ann “Midge” McElroy, of Tuxedo, NY, formerly of Tarrytown, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Born on January 17, 1934, in Tarrytown, NY, Midge was the cherished daughter of the late William and Margaret (Mosiello) DeMichele.

Midge proudly dedicated over 50 years of her career to Reader’s Digest, specializing in program analytics. She was an active member of the Westchester Ski Club and had a passion for skiing, golfing, and tennis.

In April 1969, Midge married Harold McElroy, with whom she shared 44 wonderful years until his passing in September 2013.

Midge is survived by her beloved sister, Constance MacFadyen, predeceased by her brother Joseph DeMichele. and her adored nieces and nephews: Michelle George (Steve), Hugh MacFadyen (Jeanine), and Alison Dolan (Peter). She also leaves behind her great-nieces and nephews: Matthew, Kelsie, and Emma MacFadyen, Kyla and Leah Dolan, Brandon Smith, Alexia and Nicolas George, who will all miss her dearly.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in honor of Midge on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St. Joan of Arc in Sloatsburg, NY. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Sleepy Hollow, NY.

Services are under the direction of Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, Suffern, NY.
