

She was born on April 27, 1934, in Tuxedo, New York, and spent her best years raising her family in Suffern, New York.
Nancy was the beloved wife of the late William Durkin, with whom she shared more than 60 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love and memories, always centered around family. Nancy was selfless and would do anything for those she loved. Her kindness, devotion, and quiet strength touched all who knew her.
Nancy enjoyed crafting, decorating, and baking, and found great joy creating special things to share with others. Her home was often filled with the comforting aroma of something baking in the oven and rooms beautifully adorned with holiday décor, making everyone feel welcome.
She is survived by her children: daughters Debbie (Trey) Sgroi and Deanne (Michael) Martin, and son James (Torva) Durkin. Nancy was a devoted grandmother to seven grandchildren: Danielle (Andrew) Doane, Nick and Trey Sgroi, Ryan and Mary Martin, and Fallon and Rowan Durkin. She was also the cherished great-grandmother of Hudson Doane, with whom she loved spending time. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Toby, whom she adored and lovingly catered to.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, New York. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 47 Island Road, Mahwah, New Jersey.
Nancy will be remembered for her deep love of family and the warmth she brought into the lives of all who knew her.
