Nellie Alice Ericksen of Lancaster, South Carolina, passed on to glory on Sunday, August 18th, one month before her 81st birthday. She is survived by her husband, Ronald G. Ericksen, her son Glenn R. Ericksen (wife, Mona), daughter Kimberly A. Harris (husband, Timothy), son, Todd M. Ericksen (wife, Joy), grandchildren, Glenn M. Ericksen (wife, Bethany), Kristina M. Ericksen, Lindsay A. Ericksen, Nicholas J. Ericksen, Diana L. Ericksen, Jonathan P. Harris (wife, Danielle), Nathaniel J. Harris, Joanna E. Harris, Katie Ericksen, and her sisters, Mary Olsen (husband, deceased, Arnold) and Anna Osterberg (husband, John). She is predeceased by her brother, John Czeladyn, son, Tedd C. Ericksen and parents, Michael and Anna Czeladyn.
Nellie loved her family and she loved her Savior. This was at the core of who she was and how she lived. She also loved to be busy - always doing something, going somewhere with someone she loved to be with. She enjoyed cooking (especially preparing lavish holiday meals), cruising Lake Pleasant in their boat, playing the piano, golf, taking walks and working inside/outside their home. She cherished every moment with her family & friends, especially during holidays, vacations and when they could be together in their cabin in the Adirondack Mountains (every Summer for the last 31 years).
Nellie was born in Staten Island, NY and later moved to Rockland County, NY where she and her husband Ron lived until moving to South Carolina to be near Nellie’s two sisters, Mary and Anna. She loved to shop with Mary (all day) on Tuesdays and attend church/enjoy Sunday dinner with Anna and her husband John on Sundays. About a year ago, Nellie told her niece Janet, “when I die, I’m going straight up!” And we believe that’s just what she did! We look forward to seeing her again in Heaven one day.
Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901 on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 7:00 to 9:00pm.
