Hi,

I am sad to hear that Ray tragically passed away, he was one of my early philosophy professors in my academic career and left a profound impact on me to pursue business school and look at things in a completely different perspective. May he rest in peace.

I miss you Ray.  I still cherish our friendship and all of our time together.

I only knew you for the last 3 months, and looked forward to a long, interesting, and enjoyable friendship.  I'll miss seeing your knowing Cheshire cat smile and that squinted one-eyed look of assessment as you seemed to size up each person you met, every time you met them (nothing to fear because, for anyone who really looked, they could see the caring and kindness in your eyes).  Ray, you touched my life ever so lightly, and like a newly met dog or cat, after that initial stroke, I yearned for more.  You'll always be fondly remembered.  My deepest heartfelt sympathies and condolences to your lovely wife Judy, your family and friends.

It is an honor to have known  you and to be your  friend for over 20 years.  I will miss your friendship.  Our prayers are with your family, and especially Judy.

I always looked forward to our meetings and the tossing of ideas to improve on  the society . It was my honor to sit in your class to evaluate someone who need not be evaluated. I learned a lot being in your presence. Ray thank you

Raymond always had a smile....I knew him for many years with his membership in Rotary...A good friend of Tom France, Ray worked hard for his community.  What a tragedy to loose this great guy.   Blessings to his family.

   Although we hadn't known each other for that long, our semi-daily hour long (or more!) talks were both instructive and heart warming. I will truly miss your stories and wealth of knowledge on  every subject imaginable.

My son was inspired by you and it was an honor for him to meet you last month for the first time.  I wish we could have see you more often but I will always treasure the time we did spend together. Ray was a generous and caring individual who adored the animals. He helped our rescue get started with his advice and provided ongoing moral support.

Ray, you were one of the most caring people I have ever met. I had the honor of meeting you and interviewing you for my Pet Pause segment on the local news many years ago.You touched my heart when you spoke about the animals. I still have the tape. You will surely be missed..thank you for all you have done for everyone and especially - the animals..

What are some of us going to do without you??? I am going to miss our coffee "catch-up" sessions where we would solve the problems of the world; or at least in Rockland. Your dry sense of humor, laid back mannerism, and cynical attitude always entertained me. In fact, I have collected a lot of your clichés over the years that I will continue to use. Ray, you were colorful, brilliant, a helpful friend to those in need, and not one to suffer fools lightly (including me, at times).  You were a teacher, a mentor and always interesting.  Time spent with you was always a privilege, and usually included a meal!  

You ran HVHS in a practical, principled, and humane way, but with vision as well, which is quite a task.

I'm not alone in saying I'll miss you.
