In 1944, he moved to Suffern, New York, where he had the incredible good fortune of moving in almost next door to the great love of his life, Marilyn Miele. Their marriage of 60 years exemplified devotion: to each other, their six daughters, and their thirteen grandchildren.

Judge Stolarik spent his career as a public servant. After law school, he served as an assistant county attorney for Rockland County, an assistant district attorney, a Family Court judge, and a County Court judge. In 1979, he was elected to the New York State Supreme Court, where he served until retiring in 1993. He retired to Ft. Myers, Florida, where he remained actively involved in his community.
Judge Stolarik looked for, and found, the best in people. He was known for his integrity, faith, compassion, and strength of character. He believed in justice, honesty, and kindness. He loved his family, his country, his church, the New York Yankees, and the United States Marine Corps.
