

Robert was born on January 20, 1935, in Bronx, New York, to the late James D. Vosler and Mary (Passaggieto) Vosler. He spent his life building a legacy of hard work, humor, and deep devotion to his family. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1955.
On January 7, 1961, Robert married the love of his life, Gail Holborn, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage and 6 children before her passing on September 28, 2023.
Professionally, Robert was a computer programmer for 20 years at General Foods, where he was respected for his intelligence, problem-solving skills, and steady dedication to his work. After that, he worked as a Real Estate Agent for a short while and then bought and operated a card and gift shop with Gail called Cards Plus on Main Street in Nyack, NY where he worked for 10 years before selling the business.
Robert had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed countless hours of chopping wood, watching the birds at his many feeders, hiking with his family, and spending time in nature whenever he could. He was a loyal sports fan to all his favorite New York teams and loved watching his grandson play professional baseball. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was known as a great joke teller who could always make people laugh. He loved country music, often pulling family members aside so he could share his beautiful singing voice with them. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Players and participated in many plays and shows where he loved to sing and dance. He loved taking road trips by car to different cities all over the country. He also cherished his loyal dogs, Hunter and Jager, who were beloved companions. Robert loved being with his family and friends, especially on vacations to the beach and gatherings at home where he loved and enjoyed everyone being together.
Robert was a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Gail Vosler of Airmont, NY; and survived by his children, Robert (Vanessa) Vosler of West Nyack, NY; Kim (Fred) Tessin of Cornwall, NY; Richard Vosler of Lumberton, NJ; Kelly (Lou) Gabriele of Manahawkin, NJ, and Keri (Matt) Higgins of Mendham, NJ. He was predeceased by his son Ryan, his daughter Theresa, his loving daughter-in-law Joanne (Richard), and his brother, James D. Vosler.
He was “Papa” to 17 grandchildren: Nicole, Richie, Jason, Matthew, Gina, Jessica, Chloe, Sarah, Alyssa, Anna, Louis, Matthew, Emily, Dillon, James, Nicholas, and Declan, and great-grandfather to Luca and Chase.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and special friends who loved him dearly and will miss him greatly.
A visitation for Robert will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, Suffern, NY. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Road, Airmont, New York.
