

Susan Lucchi, age 79 of Chestnut Ridge, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Thursday, December 15, 2016. Susan was born on August 12, 1937, in Manhattan to Giovanni and Antoinetta DiNozzi.
Susan married her beloved husband of 60 years, Frank Lucchi, at the age of 18 in Brooklyn, NY. She followed her husband abroad to Germany, where he was stationed for 18 months during the Cold War. After making a wish in the Trevi Fountain, Susan and Frank found out that they were expecting their first child. Together, they went on to raise four wonderful children. As her kids got older, Susan returned to work as a hair dresser at various assisted living homes in Rockland County, mainly at Thorpe Village in Sparkill. She retired at age 59 to help raise her grandchildren, whom she adored spending time with. Susan will be remembered for her extraordinary kindness and warmth.
Susan is survived by her loving husband, Frank, and their children, Lori Lucchi-Caponigro (husband Michael Beim), Frankie Lucchi (wife Karen), Anthony Lucchi (wife Darlene), and Michelle Pulitano (husband Al). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Derek and Olivia Caponigro, Nikolas, Amanda and Andrew Pulitano, Christopher and Samantha Lucchi, Tyler, Maya and Brielle Lucchi, and Jason, Jessica, Jenna and Carly Beim.
Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901 on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church in Nanuet on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 11:30am with the interment to follow at Fred W. Loescher Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Joe Raso Hospice Residence.
