Thomas proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. His service allowed him to travel to many parts of the world, an experience he deeply enjoyed and spoke of with pride. A man of strong will and character, Thomas was known for being polite, respectful, and genuinely kind. In his younger years, he was remembered fondly as a bit “wild,” especially when riding motorcycles alongside his brother Dave—one of his favorite pastimes.
Above all, Thomas was a devoted son who adored his mother and remained closely connected to his family throughout his life. He was deeply loved and will be remembered as a good man with a generous heart and an independent spirit.
Thomas is survived by his brothers, Dave MacKenzie and his wife Gladys, Donald MacKenzie and his wife Kim, Jim MacKenzie, and his sister, Betty Vanderbeek. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Barbara MacKenzie.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY.
Thomas will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will live on in the stories shared and the bonds he cherished.
