Al Quiroga of Sugar Land left with St. Joseph and The Blessed Virgin Mary leading him to be with his Lord and Savior on the 30th of July, 2022, at the age of 75. He was born in Lockhart, TX on the 21st of January, 1947, to Pete and Lola Quiroga. His young childhood in central Texas was humble but filled with adventure and misadventure with his cousin Johnny who would visit from Dallas during the summers. The pair were a modern day Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. His family later moved to Dallas where he graduated from college at The University of Texas at Arlington. After graduation he was drafted into the US Army and completed jump school for the 82nd airborne division just as deployments for the Vietnam war stopped. He completed his military service as a member of the Army Reserve and Texas National Guard in Houston. His professional career began in Information Technology for Shell in the early 70s and continued in energy with Superior Oil, Exxon Mobil, BSG and finally then returning to Shell before retiring. His career let him travel the world from Singapore to Chile, Dubai to Indonesia and everywhere in between. Even after retirement he continued to do consulting but always had time for his favorite hobbies which were golf and fishing. He loved golf and had multiple groups he would play with on either a weekly or annual basis for several decades. He would also go fishing with his long time friends every year. Al involved himself with charities ranging from Medical Bridges to SERVE with Shell and the Fort Bend Education Foundation. Above all Al loved his family and there was nothing that could get in his way of that love for them. He coached sports for his son Albert for many years. He will be deeply missed by many.
