

1936 -2021
Carole passed away peacefully in her home on August 6th, After a lengthy decline in health. She was born September 20, 1936, in Beaumont, Texas, to Recard and Goldie (Wenner) Perkins, the 3rd of 4 daughters.
The family moved to Houston in 1951 and Carole graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1954. She took a job at Stewart Title Company where she met the love of her life, Bill Cleveland. They were married on May 25, 1956 and have been a close and loving couple for 65 years. Carole and Bill lived in Southwest Houston for many years where they raised their children. In 1980’s the family moved to Sugar Land where many happy memories were also made. She was a wonderful, caring and selfless mother and grandmother and great grandmother. Always proud of her children and their accomplishments.
Carole was predeceased by her parents, her sister June, and brothers-in-law, Robert Brush and Maynard Perry. Also, her mother-in-law, Pauline, who she lovingly cared for many years. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bill, and her loving and devoted children, Daniel (Julia), Douglas, David (Lydia), Dayna Roy (Larry) and Darren (Katy). Also, by 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is greatly missed by her sisters Mitzie Perry and Pat Nitsch and brother-in-law Craig Nitsch along with numerous nieces and nephews and their families who all knew her as “Aunt Sissy.”
We will remember Carole’s wonderful Thanksgiving Dinners and Christmas Galas in her beautifully decorated home full of food and goodies for everyone. Christmas will never be the same.
Carole was devoted to her Catholic faith and served in several capacities at her church until her health would no longer allow it.
For the last 15 years, a highlight of her year was an adventure to different National Parks. Carole was appointed Chief Journalist, Record Keeper, and Provider of Snacks. She declared her favorite Parks were Yellowstone and Acadia.
Carole worked in real estate for some years in Sugar Land. She had good friends who always made sure she was included in luncheons and gatherings after she retired. Glenna, Julianne, Molly and Gwen and others were her incentive to get up and get going. The family also acknowledges their appreciation to Rochell Wright for her patient, professional and insistent care for Carole over the last year and a half.
In Lieu of flowers, Carole requested donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Visitation and Rosary will be held at The Settegast-Kopf Co @ Sugar Creek 15015 Southwest Freeway Sugar Land TX 77478 at 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, August 13th. Celebration of Life Mass will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 14th, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 705 St. Theresa Blvd., Sugar Land, Texas 77498. Burial will be at Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
