

Charles Dale Sims, age 75, passed away August 16, 2016. Chuck was born in Wichita, KS on February 12, 1941 and spent his youth working on farms. A tremendous work ethic set root and ultimately lead to many years as a successful entrepreneur. Recognizing the market potential in Texas, Chuck moved to Houston and founded Remco in the late-60s. In part because of Chuck’s determination, commitment and integrity, Remco eventually grew to be the largest rent-to-own company in America. Later in life, Chuck was involved in numerous other businesses including livestock and aquaculture. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling and currency trading.
Chuck Sims is survived by his beloved wife, Sally Sue Sims, his son Jordan Shawn Sims, daughter Regina Ro Sims-Sherretts and husband Chris, son Layne Smith and wife Elizabeth; grandchildren Collin Sims-Davenport, Canyon Rein Sherretts, Baylen Smith, Connor Smith and Noelani Smith. He is preceded in death by parents Nathaniel and Carrie Sims, and brother Nathaniel "Jr." Sims. He was beloved by his family and friends and will be missed greatly.
Services will be held Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 2 p.m. at The Settegast-Kopf Company at Sugar Creek in Sugar Land, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of choice.
