CLINT DAYLE SUMMERS, 69, loosened his hold on this life in order to grasp something far better on Friday, September 18, 2015, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by his family. He was born in Plainview, Texas and raised on a farm in Dimmit, Texas by his parents Elbert and Mary Lois Summers. He graduated from Dimmit High School in 1964 and Abilene Christian University in 1968, where he met his soul mate and the love of his life, Rose Ann Reynolds. After marrying in 1968, Clint and Rose Ann moved to Houston, where they have resided for 47 years.
Clint is best remembered by his love for his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends, and his passion, together with Rose Ann, for helping marriages and families succeed. His 29 years with Express Oil Inc. enabled him to fulfill a calling of supporting ministries around the world, as well as mentoring young businessmen. His latest joy was being involved with mission24, a campus-focused church at the University of Houston.
Clint was extremely confident and competitive in everything he did, and his tenacity was never more evident than when he was on the tennis court. Playing with his brother or a friend every week brought him much joy, even in his last week on earth.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Ann Summers; his children, Allison Hoybach and her husband Brandon, and Angie Gibbons and her husband Ryan; his grandchildren, Blake Hoybach, Caroline Hoybach, Brooke Hoybach, Abigail Gibbons, Mily Gibbons, and Brianna Gibbons; sister, Donna Yates; brother, Dean Summers; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Clint’s memory may be made to All For Him Ministries, PO Box 999, Fresno, TX 77545, which will be given to orphans in Africa and India.
