Cole Gulledge, 23, of Richmond, Texas, passed away April 15, 2022. He was born in Houston, Texas on March 13, 1999, to Loren and Shelly Gulledge. Cole was raised in Sugar Land, Texas, along with his big brother Connor.
He attended Highlands Elementary School, Sugar Land Middle, Dulles Middle, and Dulles High School. Cole loved the mountains and outdoor life and spent a year at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. He made many good friends there, but he missed the Gulf Coast. Cole returned to Texas and went to Wharton County Junior College.
Cole loved fishing at the coast. If he couldn’t make it to Galveston, he’d head to the backyard of his Sugar Land house and toss a line in Oyster Creek. Whether at the beach, his backyard, the mountains, Hill Country, or camping at a national park, Cole enjoyed time spent outdoors.
He enjoyed sports of all kinds and was a good athlete. He was on a swim team much of his life and was a varsity swimmer and diver in High School. In recent years, going to the gym became his passion.
Cole was a smart, sensitive, kind, adventurous, and compassionate son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, and friend. His loving spirit, playful nature, and sense of humor brought joy to all those who knew him. He will be sorely missed.
Cole was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jay Slone, and paternal grandfathers, Norman Gulledge and Bud Paulk.
He is survived by his parents, Loren and Shelly Gulledge, brother Connor, as well as grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and many, many friends who loved him dearly.
