

Denise E. Leigh, 79, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2024, after a courageous 12-year battle with Parkinson's disease. Born on October 15, 1944, in Kingston, Jamaica, Denise lived a life marked by grace, kindness, and unwavering strength.
Denise was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and compassion touched everyone who knew her. She immigrated to the United States in 1981, where she embraced a new chapter with the same spirit and dedication that defined her. Her life was a testament to her resilience and her deep love for her family.
She is survived by her devoted husband of fifty years, Courtney Leigh; her loving daughter Kecia Leigh (Robin Ewan); her cherished son Kevin Leigh (Tiffany); and her adored grandchildren Lauren Leigh and Langston Leigh. Denise also leaves behind her beloved siblings, sisters Marilyn Chung and Eleanor Gibb, brothers Donald Chung (Lorraine), Bruce Chung, and Philmore Ogle, and sister-in-law Marcia Chung, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Cyril and Eris Chung, her sister Cecille Chung, and her brothers Rhoderick Chung and Leslie Chung.
Her family will always remember her as a source of unconditional love and support. Denise’s kindness, generosity, and wisdom will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered.
A private celebration of Denise's life will be held by her family. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, a cause close to her heart.
The family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
