

Ed was a professor of economics at Wharton County Junior College at the time of his death. He held a Doctorate of Economics from Texas Tech University and was a loyal Red Raider fan. He also enjoyed his home team, the Texans. He leaves fond memories of shared time over Christmas 2012 with his immediate family. Additionally, his great sense of humor will be remembered by many friends and family members.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Elburn Edward Hume and Anita Joyce Klahn Hume; grandparents, Walter B. Klahn and Sammy Burford Klahn, and Trusten Hume and Lura Maud Brown Hume.
He is survived by his sister, Susan Hume Weaver and her husband Tommy; nephews, Kyle E. Weaver and his wife Katie, Trey C. Weaver and his wife Laura, and Chad J. Weaver; niece, Emily Weaver Brankle and her husband Wesley; four great nieces and nephews; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 14, 2013 at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit), with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, in Rosenberg, TX.
