ELIZABETH WELLS HAYWARD, age 82, born April 2, 1933, in Austin, MN, to Wright and Ruth Tausche Wells, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2015. She attended the University of Minnesota receiving a Degree in Interior Design. Elizabeth was married to Dr. Ronald H. Hayward for 48 years, and together they raised 4 children in Temple. Elizabeth was an avid reader, loved to travel and needlepoint, and was devoted to the arts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald H. Hayward; son, Gregory Wells Hayward; parents Wright and Ruth Wells; and brother, John Wells.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Whitney John Hayward; daughters, Maureen Hayward Venable, and Jennifer Hayward Bates and her husband David; grandchildren, Meagan and Brooke Venable, and Everett, Parker and Owen Bates; great-grandchild, Tristan Harris; and brother, Steve Wells and his wife Nancy.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 23, 2015, at Christ Episcopal Church, 300 N. Main St., in Temple.
