Ellen Marie Walsh

ELLEN M. WALSH, peacefully passed away at the age of 80 on December 1, 2015, in Sugar Land, Texas. She was born in Wausau, Wisconsin on January 3, 1935, to Frederick and Edith Haase Pophal. Ellen attended Wausau High School and graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Education in 1957. She taught elementary school for 30 plus years in the Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin school district and finished her teaching career in the Spring Branch school district in Houston, Texas. In addition to being an outstanding mother and wife, Ellen was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading, and doing crossword puzzles. Her dogs were her constant companions throughout her life. Ellen’s enthusiasm for travel included all seven continents of the world.

She is survived by her husband of 58 wonderful years, Bob; daughter, Linda Walsh of Houston, TX; sons, Patrick Walsh and his wife Melanie of Frisco, TX, and Timothy Walsh and his wife Sheila of Cypress, TX; and granddaughters, Abby and Katie Walsh. The family is thankful for all of your prayers and well wishes.

A Memorial Celebration of Ellen’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 12, 2015, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ellen’s memory may be sent to the University of Wisconsin Foundation School of Education, the Houston Zoo, or a charity of your choice.
