Elvesa Monteroso Lofranco

Elvesa Monteroso Lofranco, 69, lovingly known as “Elvie” passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025.

Born on November 24, 1955, in Balamban, Cebu, Philippines, Elvie pursued her passion in caring for others by earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Chong Hua Hospital School of Nursing. She dedicated 43 years to the profession, during which time she served as a compassionate caregiver and a valued mentor to many of her colleagues.

A woman of profound faith and service, Elvie was an active member of St. Laurence Catholic Church. Her ministries included the St. Laurence Choir, serving as a lector, and adoration of the Eucharist. She was a faithful participant in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary (HJM) Prayer Group, HJM Choir, and a member of the Filipino Community of St. Laurence (FCSL).

Outside of her professional and spiritual commitments, Elvie found great joy in singing, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She held a deep affection for her beloved Chihuahuas, Rico and Oakley, who were faithful companions.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Jaime Kiamco Lofranco; her parents, Natividad Aquino Monteroso and Martin Monteroso; her sister, Estelita Monteroso Rebucas; her brother, Remedio Monteroso; her honorary parents, Dr. Osmundo G. Rama and Beatriz N. Ponce Rama; and her niece, Virgie Rebucas Tautjo.

Elvie is survived by her daughter, Jenny-Lynn Monteroso Lofranco (Alex Jay Wachenfeld); her son, Jake Lance Lofranco; and her honorary brothers, Atty. Emmanuel P. Rama, Atty. Enrique P. Rama (Rosario Antoineth Realiza), Atty. Ernesto P. Rama (Mercy Claret)

A visitation & rosary for Elvesa will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Settegast-Kopf Company at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77478. A funeral mass will occur Friday, May 9, 2025 from 9:30 AM at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 3100 Sweetwater Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77479. A graveside will occur Friday, May 9, 2025 12:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
