Glenda Bland

On Friday, June 27, 2025, Glenda Bailey Bland, passed away at age 67 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her cherished family. Her memory will be forever brightened by the joy of laughter, the warmth of sunshine, and a deep love for the beach.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Lawrence Stephen Bland; her son, Bryan Lawrence Bland, and his wife, Stephanie; her daughter, Laura Catherine (Bland) Huerta, and her husband, Steven; her grandchildren, Phoenix, McKenzie, Lincoln, Frances, and EmmyLou; and her sisters, Lindy and Bethany Bailey. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, LaVerle and Winnie Bailey.

Glenda was born in Houston on September 30, 1957. Her life was enriched by meeting her loving husband, Lawrence, in 1977, and their marriage on July 29, 1979, also in Houston. Their family grew with the arrival of their son, Bryan Lawrence Bland, on April 29, 1981, and their daughter, Laura Catherine (Bland) Huerta, on March 16, 1984. For over 35 years, Glenda devoted her professional career to the dynamic oil and gas sector in Houston, serving as an executive assistant at ExxonMobil and Schlumberger.

Glenda held a special fondness for the beach. She cherished traveling to various Caribbean countries, enjoying walks along the shore, collecting seashells, and watching the sunset. The beach represented a place of joy, peace, and reflection for her. Glenda's vibrant spirit will always be linked to the beauty of the sea.

Visitation will be held at The Settegast-Kopf Company@Sugar Creek, Morrow Chapel, located at 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, Texas, 77478, on July 8, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at St. Thomas of Canterbury Anglican Church, 14007 South Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77047, on July 9, 2025, starting at 10:00 am.
