Gloria Dean Suttie

Gloria Dean McGuire Suttie passed away in Sugar Land, Texas on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at age 92. Gloria was born on July 21, 1929, on a small farm near Simsboro, Louisiana. She was the seventh of nine children born to Thomas and Lois McGuire. At age 19, she met and married Roy Harold Suttie. They eventually settled in Westminster, Colorado, where they raised their three kids and enjoyed an incredibly full life of family, friends, church activities and travel.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, seven of her eight siblings, and her husband, Roy. She is survived by her sister Esther, her son Robert and wife Margie, her daughter Deborah and husband John, and her daughter Lois and husband Richard. She is also survived by eight grandchildren - Dayna, Lindsey, Brooke, Tom, Sarah, Karen, Robby, and Charlie, as well as 13 great-grandchildren - Susannah, Egon, Leo, Damian, Cameryn, Dagny, Tyler, Anthony, Simon, Tillwyn, Rosemary, Clara, and Ogden.

Gloria leaves a legacy of love and service. She was a perfect helpmate to her loving husband, Roy, for 71 years. She always nurtured her children, grandchildren, and those who had the pleasure of being welcomed into her home. She was kind, compassionate, and accepting of others without judgment. She will be missed by all, but the example of how she lived her life has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A funeral service for Gloria will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 11:00 at the Settegast-Kopf Chapel at 15015 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77478. Following the funeral there will be a dedication ceremony at 2:00 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038.
