

HECTOR DELEON, age 75, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014, after a long illness. Hector was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Juan and Emelia Abraham DeLeon, and graduated from Breckenridge High School. He was also a United States Navy Veteran and a graduate of St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. After graduation, Hector worked in the computer industry as a systems analyst and computer salesman and retired from Hewlett-Packard as a District Sales Manager. In retirement, he enjoyed playing golf, taking long walks, reading, and spending time with his cats Fats and Max. Hector was very enthusiastic about his volunteer work at Texas Children’s Hospital, where he received his five year pin for service. He was a hardworking, generous man with a great sense of humor, who especially enjoyed his family get-togethers. Hector is survived by his devoted wife of forty-six years, Gloria Henderson DeLeon; and his two sons, Carlos DeLeon and wife Tami, and Michael DeLeon. He is also survived by three sisters; three brothers; and numerous much loved, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to acknowledge all the kind staff and nurses at Silverado Senior Living and Silverado Hospice, who helped look after Hector. Each and every one was compassionate and dedicated to the highest degree. They also wish to recognize the care and support of family and friends over the years, especially niece, Emily Parent and husband John; brother, Juan Humberto DeLeon and wife Martha; sister, Esperanza Barrera; and niece, Becky Barrera. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 14, 2014, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek (Williams Trace Exit).
