

Irma Ruiz Ludwig, 72, passed away peacefully at her home in Houston, TX on Friday, January 28, 2022. She was a devoted wife, mother, and woman of faith and dedicated her life to educating others. She will be deeply missed by her family and countless others that she touched through her decades of service at school and church. Irma graduated from El Paso High School in 1968 and went on to earn her B.S. in Elementary Education from The University of Texas El Paso. In 1995, Irma received her Master’s in Education with Mid-Management Certification from Sul Ross State University and dedicated over 30 years to shaping the hearts and minds of children, teachers, and administrators in the El Paso Independent School District. Upon retirement, Irma moved to Houston to be closer to her beloved daughters and grandchildren. They were her heart and soul and her greatest treasures. Irma was a faithful member of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church and the ACTS Women’s Group.
She is joined in heaven with her husband of 38 years, Bob; her grandchild, Connor; parents, Guillermo and Carolina; her brothers, Junior and Muggins; and her sister, Martha. She is survived by her daughters, Alexis Olympia (Peter) and Anndreya Harris (Ross); grandchildren Madison, Ryan, Blake, and Grace; brother, Carlos Ruiz; sister, Patsy Medlin (Paul); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Rosary will be held on Friday, February 18th at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, 9009 Sienna Ranch Rd, Missouri City, TX 77459 at 10:30AM followed by the Catholic Funeral Mass at 11:30AM.
Services in El Paso will be held on March 18th at St. Matthews Parish, 400 W. Sunset Rd, El Paso, TX 79922 at 10:30AM with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 4301 Alameda Ave., El Paso, TX 79905 at 1PM. Everyone is invited to wear pink in honor of her fight against breast cancer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her grandson Connor’s foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for pediatric brain tumors. Donations can be made at www.chadtough.org/connorman.
