I had the pleasure to work with James at Sun Behavioral. Although my time as his coworker was brief, he definitely made an impact. I remember we would laugh about how slow he typed on the computer. He was such a kind soul and will definitely be missed. 

I worked with James for close to 5 years at Kingwood Pines Hospital. What an amazing privilege to work and know with James. Easily the most hard working and caring compassionate people I have ever met. I don’t think it can be over stated. I’m so sorry for the families loss

I had the pleasure of working with James at Kingwood Pines. James was was truly a kind, gentle person. He was an amazing nurse,  always had a kind word, no matter the  circumstances. He definitely left his print in the world, and will be missed.

    Mr. James' demise was a saddening one! He was such a Kind, Respectful, Humble and Polite Colleague and Mentor. A true ICON of Excellent Customer Service  and Sun's Values ( Safety, Teamwork, Integrity, and Compassion) at SUN BEHAVIORAL HOSPITAL HOUSTON.  Very intelligent and diplomatic  when it comes to relaying message  to his colleagues. Always ready to exceed expectations and had an amazing sense of humor.

Extending my deepest condolences to Ginny, Drew & Madison. I remember James back in college at TX State. He was a tall, shy guy with a nice smile. From what I’ve heard, he truly loved his kids as only a dad can.  

I had the privilege of working with James in Kingwood Pines Hospital. James was very tall, but often bend down to take care of patients. He was a strong man, but very gently to handle the patient with care. He was an experience nurse, did not seek high position job, but always worked in the PICC unit to directly take care of the patients. He trusted in God. One day, he showed me a small black wood cross – the precious present from his parents. He told me that he never take it off from his neck. James always keeps God within him. Therefore, in the moment of death and the journey to heaven, James was not alone, God be with you, James. Rest in peace. Pray for each other. Duy Nguyen.     

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. James at Kingwood Pines. One word comes to mind when I think about the person he was. Selfless. He was the most incredible nurse, always calm, patient and compassionate towards his patients regardless of how rough the shift was going. His smile would break the tension in the room.  Mr. James loved his kids dearly and spoke of them often. He told me a story about going to a Coheed and Cambria concert with his son and His face just lit up. You could see how proud he was of both of his kids every time he mentioned them.  My heart goes out to his family. Mr. James will be greatly missed. 

I had the privilege of working with Mr. James at Kingwood Pines for almost 10 years and another year after at Sun Behavioral. He trained me as a brand new nurse. He was the kindest, most patient and caring person I have had the pleasure of knowing. He truly was the salt of the earth.

I worked with James for many, years. He truly was a great nurse. The kind of nurse you would want to take care of you or your loved one, if needed.  He was smart, knowledgeable, kind, humble, positive, always willing to help,  and an advocate for his patients. 
 But honestly, when I think of James the first thing I think of is how much he loved his family. He would always refer to his children as the kids, which always made me smile, even as they entered  their adult years.  It was obvious they were a great joy to him. 
My deepest condolences to his family. I write this reflection with great sadness with the news of his passing. May God comfort you in your sorrow. 


My heart bleeds for me writing about Mr. Jame's dismiss. It is difficult for me to write this tribute about Mr. James. I couldn't believe that working with Mr. James on January 6 would be my last time with him. Oh death where is thy sting? But my consolation is that Mr. James lived a good life. When I started working at SUN Behavioral Houston, Bridges unit 2 years ago, I heard good things about Mr. James before I met him. The first day I worked with Mr. James, after getting report from previous shift, I asked Mr. James how did he want to share the work assignment, on his exact words he asked me, "What are you comfortable doing?" At that time as a new psych nurse I wasn't comfortable caring for Psych Patients, I was so scared working at the Bridges unit being that is PICU. But Mr. James was among Bridges staff that helped me to overcome my fear. From 2020 till January 6th, 2022 that I worked with Mr. James, it was always great experience working together. Mr. James was a very compassionate colleague, a team player, always showing integrity,  and Patient's Safety was his priority. 
     To his family, please accept my sincere condolence. 
     Mr. James may your gentle soul find eternal rest. Thank you Mr. James for the times we worked together. Farewell Mr. James. You will be greatly missed. 



Such a good hearted man. His exist from this earth indicated that God calls any person as He wishes. Rest in peace, we keep your good memories..excellent working with you

I had the pleasure of working with a beautiful soul,  he was kind, gentle and compassionate. James and I met back in 2010 and I can honestly say he will be missed. Rest well James. 


I worked with James for over ten years both as a fellow nurse and also as  his Supervisor. He was an excellent nurse on the PIC unit. He always 
had a smile and pleasant, positive attitude with patients and his fellow coworkers. It was a pleasure to know him and work with him. He will be missed by many. 

It was such a pleasure coming in to work on Thursday and Fridays because I was guaranteed to work with James. James was the charge nurse while I served as clinical therapist of the PICU for many, many years.    What a great team we were!!!  I always knew the patients were being taken care of, the communication would be stellar, and most importantly the unit would be safe on those precious Thursday and Fridays with James.  This loss is heartbreaking and you will be forever missed!   

Mr James was a very quiet man, easy going, full of humbleness. He will be missed. We pray to God to be with his family and to give them patience and fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

 I had the pleasure of working  with Mr. James.  He was one of a kind and a true example of a stand up guy. Polite, kind,   ready to help and always a bright spirit in the room. My condolences to your family. You will truly be missed.

I worked in the same Hospital as James for years. I didn’t work beside him until a couple months before I left. It was an honor to watch the interactions he had with the patients and the staff. He was truly gifted in his occupation and his  empathy and insight into every one he met. His critical thinking skills were second to none. He opened my eyes to how to be better nurse! The world will not be the same without his kindness. His loss is tragic!

I had the privilege of working with James at KIngwood Pines . James had the kindest heart ! He was such a team player when it came to work . He made my life brighter !

Mr James as I usually called me was a gentle man to the letter. He was a great trainer.  He was ready to answer all questions you pose to him. He would come down to your level to make sure you understand to the best of his ability. He was a kind of boss and colleague one would never be tired to work with. Soft spoken, down to earth, kindhearted, hardworking and simplicity personified. He was a genuine nurse with a great passion for his patients. Nursing was a call to service for him. It was really clear that he did not become a nurse because of the prestige, glamour or enormous pay that the job gives. Nursing was a natural duty to him. When I saw him briefly on the hallway at work on the 6th of January 2022, I never knew that was the last I would see of the man with a love for a baseball hat! Mr James would be greatly missed...that's the fact! Good night Mr James Miranda!!! I will miss you!

James was a truly amazing man and genuine human. He was also a fantastic nurse, who taught me a lot. Working with him was always a pleasure. He had so many strengths of character; his kindness, compassion and integrity were just a few. Condolences to his family which he loved dearly and spoke of often. The news of his passing leaves my heart heavy as we have lost another amazing man and nurse much too soon. 

To the family, I worked with James a few times and he was an awesome nurse and coworker.  He was always so kind and his attitude never ever changed.  I’ve never met any one like him.  I am sorry for your loss and pray that God will comfort you thru these difficult times.  He was an angel on earth so I know he will definitely be one in heaven.

James, you are one of the best human being that ever lived. In your works you are second to none. Only God knows why He wants you home now. May your soul rest in perfect peace.


James was a amazingly kind person. He was also an excellent nurse and truly cared about others. He is missed.

James was always ready to help everyone, always had a kind word, never was negative about anything. James you are truly missed. I still remember the last time you relieved me, always positive spirit.
