Jane S. Brooks

Jane S. Brooks, 96, of Houston, Texas passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at home with her family. Jane was born in Zenith, Kansas on July 1, 1925 to True and Edith Smith. She married John Schnellbacher in 1946 and moved to Houston. Jane went to work for Trans Texas Airways in 1964 and later retired from Continental Airlines. Mrs. Brooks married Marvin Brooks in 1980. Throughout her life Jane has loved and nurtured her children, grandchildren, and all those who had the pleasure of being welcomed into her home. She was kind, compassionate, and accepted others without judgement, while always honoring them with her undivided attention. Her genuine loving-kindness is rare and will be missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Brooks is preceded in death by parents True and Edith Smith, brother, Donald Smith, sister, Helen Anderson, and husband, Marvin Brooks. Mrs. Brooks is survived by her daughter, Dawn Becker, and son, Gregg Schnellbacher, as well as Jay, Pete, and Dub Brooks, and Sanna Link. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michelle Masters and Holly Liles, as well as Aaston Brooks, Aaron Pinkham, Hillary Houle, Gabriel Brooks, Cary Link, Samantha Coffey, and Mickey Brooks. She also leaves behind 16 great grandchildren—Kevin, Erica, Matthew, Rayanna, Faith, Kaela, Emma, Luke, Chloe, Jake, Jordan, Hannah, Bennett, Ian, Eleanor, and Cleo, as well as 3 great-great grandchildren—Avery, Riot, and Eliana, with 2 more on the way. She has also adopted many others into her heart and loved them like immediate family. She loved well and is truly loved by us all.

A visitation for Jane will be held Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Settegast-Kopf Company at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77478. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Modena Cemetery, 7236 Blase Road, Beasley, TX 77471.
