John Edward Colley was born on June 11,1941 in Birmingham, Alabama. John was the beloved son of the late Mary Colley Gracin and John Williams. He received his formal education in the Birmingham Public School System and graduated from Ullman High School. John accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age.
After graduating from high school his family relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana where John started his career as a truck driver working for various companies. Once he established his knowledge and skills he moved to Fridley, Minnesota to work for Koch Trucking Company for over 35 years until he retired in 2009. He then moved to Missouri City, Texas to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren until the Lord called him home.
John was a free spirit and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, bowling and playing dominoes.
On Wednesday June 29, 2022, the Lord called John home to take his eternal rest.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories Daughter Yolanda Stanley, Grandsons James Darren Stanley Jr., and Jordan Edward Stanley Brothers and Sisters: Richard Gracin (Pam) of New Orleans, LA, Grier Gracin (Beverly) of Katy, TX, Norina Higgins (Tim) of Atlanta, GA, Veronica Gracin Jacksonville, FL, Sullivan K. Williams Jr., Ronald Williams, Linda Williams, Johnny Williams Jr., of Birmingham, AL, Two God Children Antoinette North and Aaron Shields, and a Host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
John was proceeded in his death by his parents and two sisters, Ella Mary Lumpkin, and Rose Colley
A memorial service for John will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Settegast-Kopf Company @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77478, followed by a reception from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
