Joseph Aquinas Cortes Kim

Joseph Aquinas was reunited with Our Lord Jesus Christ on February 15, 2023. He was born on April 28, 2020, at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas to parents Geon Woo (Adam) and Ellamae Sophia (Maecy) Kim.

He was loved by his grandparents: Gaudencio and Eileen Cortes, Kyeong Ro and Soon Ja Kim, as well as his aunts and uncles: Julienne, RJ, Ji Hyo (husband Kyong Wook), Hyeon Woo, Hyeon Seng (wife Eun Seung, children: Ji Hwan, Yoo Joo). Joseph Aquinas was the star and heart of his family, and he grew up around many dogs and therefore was like the human puppy of the pack, he would woof like his furry dog siblings which included: Riley, Presley, Holly, Leo, Lily, Ellie, Roxy, Audrey and Lucky. All of which were always cautious and concerned for their human sibling and have already been missing him.

Joseph Aquinas loved to watch and laugh at various cartoon shows on YouTube which included: Mr. Monkey - Monkey Mechanic, Bumble Nums, Super Simple brand shows and Cocomelon. He was even interested in hearing and watching cartoon shows in different languages and humming along with catchy tunes especially when his mommy would reenact cartoon segments or sing nursery songs. Joseph Aquinas enjoyed being comfortable in his stroller or wagon while often attending mass with his parents, going out to restaurants with his family and strolling around in the neighborhood.

He was a brave and strong heart warrior who courageously battled through various health complications but along the way inspired and motivated many people to pray always, love unconditionally and learn about the unwavering trust and incredible faith in God. We know he is resting comfortably in heaven with Jesus and all the holy angels and saints who are interceding for us.

A visitation for Joseph Aquinas will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Settegast-Kopf Company at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, Texas 77478. A rosary service will occur Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 6:00 PM. A period of time for visitation and rosary services will occur Friday, March 3, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A mass of christian burial will occur Friday, March 3, 2023 at 1:00 PM at St Theresa Catholic Church, 705 St Theresa Blvd, Sugar Land, Texas 77498. A graveside service will occur Friday, March 3, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Forest Park Southwest Cemetery, 9040 FM359, Richmond, TX 77406.
