

JOSEPHINE AUDINE TOMERLIN WHITING, 86, of Houston, Texas, died at home the evening of Saturday, July 30, 2011. Audine was first and foremost a housewife and mother. Later in life she worked as an office manager for a local dentist and several neurosurgeons in the Medical Center. She was a member of West University Baptist Church for many years. She looked forward to the annual Table Grace event and utilized it to show the Lord’s love to each person participating. Audine loved flowers and gardening, crocheting, and especially University of Texas football, which she followed with a passion. She visited her second home in Centerville, Texas frequently, and attended First Baptist Church when there. Moreover, she deeply loved her family and the many friends at the churches and communities in which she was involved. Audine was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dan and Maggie Tomerlin; her husband of fifty-seven years, Jack; son, Bill; and sister, Margaret Ann. She is survived by her sons, Daniel and his wife Dorothy, and Jack and his wife Jean; grandchildren, Dianna Veath and her husband Christopher, Deborah Forgue and her husband Tommy, Patrick Whiting, Nicholas Whiting, and Kathleen Whiting; great-grandchildren, Ashley Veath, David Veath, Trinity Forgue, and Ethan Forgue; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Audine’s Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 6, 2011, at West University Baptist Church, 6218 Auden, Houston, with Dr. Roger Patterson, officiating. A reception will follow in the Welcome Center. Interment at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery will follow the reception at 2:00 PM.
