

Lirva Carlota Gonzalez Garcia, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024, in Humble, Texas, at the age of 91. She was born on August 4, 1933, in General Trevino, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and dedicated her life to nurturing her family and community.
Lirva was a talented seamstress, known for her skillful hands that not only crafted beautiful garments but also created cherished memories in her kitchen. She delighted in cooking for her family, specializing in homemade flour tortillas, enchiladas, and tamales. Her culinary creations were a testament to her love and dedication, and they brought her family together in joyous celebration.
In addition to her passion for cooking, Lirva enjoyed playing Bingo and visiting casinos, finding excitement and joy in these activities. However, her greatest joy came from caring for her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Lirva was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Agustin Garcia; her parents, Abelardo and Guadalupe Gonzalez; her son, Hector Garcia; and her siblings, Nacedalia Garcia, Minerva Garcia, Manela Perez, Elvia Salazar, Homero Gonzalez, Abelardo Gonzalez, and Agoberto Gonzalez.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Lirva (Jerry Bean) and Belinda (Juan Garcia); her sister, Ofelia (Jesse Ruiz); her brother, Cuactemoc "Temo" (Lucinda Gonzalez); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Laura (Jose Rodriguez), Erica Moreno, Mayra (Miguel Ramirez), Monabel Garcia, Ariana Isabel (Jeremy Garcia-Ramirez), John Robert Garcia (Katy Arabie), and Jennifer Bean, as well as her great-grandchildren: Jose, Jazzlyn, and Joselly Rodriguez; Jorge Flores; Martin and Angel Moreno; Jesus Mendez; Irais, Isabel, and Mia Ramirez; Jesse, Ezekiel, and Isaiah Leal; and Gideon Augustin and Athena Ray Garcia.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Crimson Heights Health and Wellness Center and Oasis Hospice Care for their compassionate support during her final days.
A celebration of Lirva's remarkable life will be held on November 15, 2024, at 11 AM at The Settegast-Kopf Co at Sugar Creek, located at 15015 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, Texas 77478. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Lirva will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen, Texas at 10am.
