

Louis Cooper, 75 of Missouri City, passed away on December 21, 2020. Louis was born on March 13, 1945 to Maggie and Ardist Cooper in Warden, Louisiana. After graduating from Richwood High School in 1963, he went on to study at the University of Nevada – Reno earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1968. After graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the US Army and served for seven years; leaving to pursue a career in insurance and investment banking. He furthered his education by obtaining a Masters in Human Resources from Pacific Lutheran University and an Executive MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
In 1991, he met Denise Wester and wed in 1992, going on to have one child, Brian Louis Cooper. Louis retired from JC Morgan Chase in 2001. During retirement, he devoted his time to Sugar Creek Baptist Church’s mission activities and urban youth ministry as well as leading a men’s accountability group at the church. He was ordained a deacon of the church in 2009. Louis enjoyed fishing and could often be seen sitting on a bench by the lake near his home smoking a cigar.
Louis is proceeded in death by parents Maggie and Ardist Cooper; brothers, Onie Cooper, Jim Cooper and John Cooper; sisters, Katie Scott, Margarie Beasley and Maggie Jean Griffin.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Denise; sons Darrell Williams (Aymara) and Brian Louis Cooper; daughters Elena Cooper and Tersha Cooper; grandchildren Garrick Williams, Leah Williams, Brianna Cooper Bailey and Eric Isaiah Williams; siblings, Ardist Cooper, Jr., Roger Cooper (Jackie), Herman Cooper (Linda), Beatrice Mayo, Charles Ellis (Sharonda), Ray Jordan (Verlena) and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
