Lulu Castillo

She lived her first two years in Chicago & then moved to Mexico City with her mom & sister.

In 1968, along with her mom and sister, Lulu moved to Houston, where she would attend a special

education program. While in high school, Lulu participated in Track & Field events with the Special

Olympics. She also attended Camp Cougar, a special program, hosted by the University of Houston,

every summer. In 1981, Lulu graduated from Furr High School.

Lulu loved going on vacations with her family, her mom, Ana, sister Virginia, brother-in-law Larry, and

nieces, Elizabeth and Michellé. Lulu and her family visited San Antonio numerous times, where they spent many summers creating beautiful memories at the San Antonio Zoo, downtown River Walk, Fiesta

Texas, and Sea World. Lulu also had the opportunity to visit other places with her family, such as

California, Florida and Cancun. She knew exactly how to pack for these trips which included packing

coloring books, word search puzzles and apartment locator books. Packing clothes was not her priority.

Lulu always looked forward to celebrating birthday parties, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New

Years. She took a personal interest in self-care. Lulu enjoyed being pampered by having her hair cut

and getting her nails done. After all, she was very much a lady.

Lulu was preceded in death by her mother, Ana Maria Uribe Pena; aunt, Carmen Uribe Herrera; uncles, Jose Concepcion Uribe Herrera, Antonio Uribe Herrera, and Gonzalo Uribe Herrera.

She is survived by her sister, Virginia C. Buzo; brother-in-law, Larry R. Buzo; niece, Elizabeth A. Buzo,; niece, Michelle R. Olmo and husband Jaime A. Olmo as well as their son Enzo.

For the last three years, Lulu was blessed to be part of “All The Little Things Count” group home

organization, where she was loved and cared for.

Lulu’s legacy and memories live on in the hearts and minds of the lives she touched throughout her

beautiful life. May you rest now Lulu, our sweet little angel. We love you forever.
