Mark Bevin Carlisle
17 juillet 1953 – 5 septembre 2017
Mark Bevin Carlisle, 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in Sugar Land, Texas. Mark was born on July 17, 1953 in Beaumont, Texas to Florence and Paul Carlisle.
Mark is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 43 years, Ann; daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Joshua Bibb of Sugar Land; daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Andrew Morton of Sugar Land; grandchildren; Carson Morton, Avery Bibb, Amelia Bibb, and Alexander Bibb; mother, Florence Carlisle of Beaumont; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Sylvia Carlisle of Beaumont; brother and sister-in-law, Chip and Susan Carlisle of Sugar Land.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul W. Carlisle, Sr. and his father-in-law, Hampton W. Blake.
Mark graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1975 with a degree in Business Administration. He married Ann, his high school sweetheart, in August 1974. He began working as a Landman for Marathon Oil Company in 1976. A longtime AAPL and HAPL member, he became a Certified Professional Landman in 1996. Over his career, he worked for other corporations within the industry, eventually retiring from Conoco Phillips in September 2016. After holding various positions within the oil industry, he discovered he had a passion and love for mentoring newly recruited Landmen and was always willing to share his experiences and advice for the gain and growth of others. Mark had a love for golfing, hunting and fishing, but mostly he loved playing with his grandchildren and watching sunsets with his wife, Ann, at their Galveston Bay home.

216 pictures here and Mark has that beautiful smile in every picture! The many kind words said by so many people here say so much about what a good person he was. I was blessed to have him as a cousin. I know his light will continue to shine in Ann, Erin, Kristin and all of those who knew and loved him. Much love to all of you.

Ann,
Sheri and I were saddened to our core upon hearing of Mark's passing. We are sorry for your loss and offer our thoughts and prayers to you and your family. My memories of Mark will always be positive as started in our younger landman days in Houston at Marathon. Mark was always a friend, always willing to share support. His character reflected thought tempered with heart and affection for those around him. He always reached out or picked up a phone to others in support of their needs and projects. He is missed, but my memories of Mark will always be fondly remembered.

Leslie and I are very saddened to hear about Mark's passing. He and I were close workmates with Sonat in Tyler in the early years of that office. Ann and the girls were also part of our lives in Tyler and in Sugar Land when we all moved down there. Mark was a great friend and excellent land man during our time together. We in Tyler are all saddened to hear that he has passed. We know Ann and the girls will have fond memories of Mark as a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
