Mary O Higginbotham

Mary was the mother of Joan Moore, Dianne Simms and Deirdre Higginbotham. She had four grandchildren: Jennifer Wilhelm, Laura Lyda, Sara Wilhelm and Garrett Simms, plus three great-grandchildren.

She was born and grew up in Massachusetts, the oldest of seven children. She married Ralph Higginbotham in 1948 and raised her three daughters in St. Louis, MO, and Altadena, CA. She worked for Southwestern Bell for 20 years in St. Louis and moved to Texas in the 1990s.

Mary was also affectionately known as Dede. She was a superb cook, loved baking, traveled to great destinations and reading about flowers and history. She was a fan of British mysteries on PBS. Very intelligent and inquisitive, she was an avid reader.

Mary was always festive at holiday seasons. We will always treasure her 96-year life and the legacy of her family. With love always to Mary Higginbotham.
