Patricia Ann Gutierrez

Patricia (Pat) Ann Gutierrez, age 74, was called home on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital . Mrs. Patricia Gutierrez was born on September 29, 1946, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Ernest and Viola (Miller) Lutjelusche. She was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Columbus, Nebraska on November 3, 1946 and confirmed at the same church on March 26, 1961. She was an active participant in the church’s youth group and also played the organ at church. Growing up on a farm, Patricia (Pat) was an active member of the 4-H Club. She attended Columbus High School and graduated from there in 1964. During the time in high school she was member of the Pep Club.

She married René Gutierrez on May 18, 1968, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Columbus, Nebraska. She led a successful career as a tax accountant in the oil industry for almost 40 years. She retired from Plains All American in December of 2016. She was an active member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Sugar Land. Most recently, she was a member of the ladies’ bible study group that met on a weekly basis. She enjoyed cooking and baking, doing word searches, and spending time with her family. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, René Gutierrez and her parents, Ernest and Viola Lutjelusche. She leaves behind her son, René Louis and wife Amanda of Rosenberg; daughter, Glenda Ann Moya of Richmond; four grandchildren- Alexis, Ryan, Adrianna, and Rande; and brother, Louis Lutjelusche (Colleen) of Richland, Nebraska.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm through 8:00 pm, Monday, December 7, 2020, at The Settegast-Kopf Company @ Sugar Creek 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, TX. Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, 1123 Burney Road, Sugar Land, TX, with Pastor Will Starkweather presiding. Interment will follow at Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery Rosenberg, TX.

The family is requesting to wear a mask and abide by social distancing as well as other guidelines. While we know in times of sorrow, a hug often brings comfort to the family. However, during this time, we ask that you respect our wishes and refrain from any hugging or physical contact.
