Susan Rebecca “Becky” Bishop
December 3, 1947 – March 27, 2025
Susan Rebecca “Becky” Bishop, 77, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones after a short, yet courageous battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer. Becky was born on December 3, 1947, in Houston, Texas to James William and Katherine McNair Lynch.
Becky was an honor graduate from Robert E. Lee High School where she loved being a competitive bowler. Becky went on to build a long and steady career in the oil and gas industry, retiring as an accountant in 2013.
Becky was a dedicated member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and an active part of First Presbyterian Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, chatting with friends, watching the Houston Texans, and playing the lottery. But her greatest joy came from time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Becky was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She had a quick wit, a warm heart, and a strong sense of loyalty to those she loved.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, James William and Katherine McNair Lynch and her aunt Helen McLachlan.
Becky is survived by her daughters, Jenny Dorsett (Wayne) and Amy Ochoa (forever son-in-law Ruben); and her son, James Bishop. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Everett Lee Hunt III (Ashley), Mary Herndon (Michael), Tyler Hunt, Keith Thompson, Megan Thompson Ochoa, Jake Ochoa (Raygen) , Raymond Ochoa, Ryan Ochoa, Mariah Molina (Danny), Lukas Dorsett and Darrell Dorsett II; and her great-grandchildren: Amelia Hunt, Nora Herndon, Lola Herndon, Skyler Herndon and Kaylen Dorsett. She is also survived by her cousins Kitty Rodgers, Katie Rodgers, and Amanda Kate Rodgers.
The family would like to give special thanks to Jamie and the entire staff at Serenity Gardens, Dickinson for their around-the-clock care, love and support to our mom, Trish with Spectrum Hospice for being there with us through her transition, and to all the friends and family who stayed in touch and visited during this difficult time.
Becky’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the memories her family will forever cherish.
