

Tom was born in Dallas, Texas on June 21, 1947. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Texas and held a Bachelor of Science from Texas A & M University, where he graduated in 1969, and received his Master of Science in 1977. He proudly served in the Air Force as a Lieutenant flying in the Vietnam War. One of his proudest moments was flying Vietnam POW’s home from the war. A Civil Engineer, Tom retired from Fugro, Inc. as President of Fugro GeoServices, Inc.
Since childhood, Tom was passionate about golf – he loved to teach, watch and play golf. A past member of Sweetwater Country Club and Quail Valley Golf Course, he and wife Nancy traveled the world to play “bucket list” golf courses. But, Hawaii was his favorite place - especially Kuki’o Golf Course on the Big Island. He died on Masters Sunday – his favorite golf day of the year.
Tom adored and was incredibly proud of his family. He could often be seen in the stands watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 27 years, Nancy Duchamp Hamilton; his daughter, Abigail Durban and husband Egon; and his stepchildren, Ray Waters and Stacie Talbott and husband Norman. He is also survived by his nine adoring grandchildren: Connor, Will, Zoey and Jackson Talbott; Jillian and Alex Waters; and Katie, Sydney and Anna Durban. Tom was predeceased by his parents Clinton Hamilton and Martha Fay Lawson; his stepmother, Jeanette Hamilton; and his first wife, Vicki Hamilton.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 2:00pm in The Morrow chapel of The Settegast –Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, Texas.
