Vernita Schmidt Loesch

VERNITA ELSIE LOESCH, 95, .went to be with the Lord Thursday, November 19, 2015. Her family was by her side. Vernita was born in Fayetteville, TX, on October 5, 1920, to Walter and Blanche Schmidt. After graduating from Fayetteville High School, she came to Houston, received her Cosmetology Degree, and worked until she retired in 2007 at the age of 87.

Vernita enjoyed dancing, cooking and being around people. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reinhardt H. Loesch, Jr.; parents, Walter and Blanche Schmidt; and brothers, Horace, Harold and Leon. She is survived by her children, Reinhardt H. Loesch, III and his wife Martie, Lois Fay and her husband Douglas, and Phyliss Friddell and her husband Peter; her devoted caregiver and sister in Christ, Lucretia Augustine; devoted caregiver and brother in Christ, Lonnie Perkins; grandchildren, Reinhardt H. Loesch, IV and his wife Elda, Derek Loesch, Lori Hudson Bertrand and her husband Chad, and Grant and Rebekah Friddell; great-grandchildren, Tony, Elysia, Natalie and Dylan Loesch, David Hudson Jr., and Ryen and Sawyer Bertrand. She is also survived by her sister Bernice Zapalac; and a host of many other family members and friends.

Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, November 23, 2015, The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek. A celebration of Vernita’s life will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Faith Lutheran Church, 4600 Bellaire Blvd., Bellaire, TX 77401. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM, at Florida Chapel Cemetery, in Round Top, TX.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Vernita’s memory may be made to her church of 70 years, Faith Lutheran, or to charity of your choice.
