

Wyatt Maddux, 70, of Sugar Land, Texas, passed away from complications related to pancreatic cancer on November 25, 2016, while he was surrounded by family. He was born on March 28th, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pa., to F.W. “Bud” Maddux and Anita McDonald Maddux, both of whom are deceased. He is survived by his sister, Marlaine White, and his brother-in-law, Ken White, of Sugar Land, Texas. His is also survived by his brother, Robert Maddux, also of Sugar Land, Texas. Other survivors included his uncle, Richard Ryker of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, nephew Trainor White and spouse, Maria; niece Valerie Thurmond and spouse, Robert Thurmond, and niece Elaine Turner and spouse, Jim Turner. Also, his Great nieces and nephews: Harrison and Marlie Turner, Dashiell and Quillan Thurmond, and Maddux and Seraffina White. Surviving him also is his adored cat, Shredder. Wyatt will be sorely missed by his Tulsa friends, Chris Armstrong and Jan Petty, along with all his friends at Arnie’s Bar and Pub on 2nd Street in Tulsa. Wyatt attended high school and college in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Marketing. Ultimately, he found his calling as an artist and created many original and beautiful paintings. He spent a career as a television news photographer, working for network affiliates both in Houston, Texas and Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he eventually retired to a quiet life many years ago. Thanks to the MD Anderson Hospital for their efforts on his behalf. We also thank his caretakers, Esther Rosette and Leona and Mary Driver, and from Home Instead, Ester Sloan for their loving care during these difficult last weeks. Wyatt was an animal lover and would want any donations or contributions in his honor to go to the ASPCA, www.aspca.org, or to your local animal shelter.
