

Alex was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. He was a member of Carpenter's Local #1075. He enjoyed watching Monday night wrestling, working on projects around the house, and spending time with his family, especially at crawfish boils. He loved to pass on his knowledge of carpentry and mechanical skills to his family. He will be remembered for his excellent sense of humor and playing practical jokes.
Survivors include his children, Amy Chretien and husband, Tony, and Wilson James O'Quain, all of Sulphur; eight grandchildren, Stacie Hebert, Allison Bishop, Nicholas Chretien, Dylan O'Quain, Lena Hardesty, Ricky Istre, Alex O'Quain, and Jarrett O'Quain; and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Anna O'Quain; a sister, Orlene "Dede" Mullins, as well as other siblings.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, December 16, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. James Rivers will officiate. Burial will be in Savoie Cemetery in Eunice. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Thursday with a rosary service at 6 p.m. and from 8 a.m. until the time of service Friday in the funeral home.
