Charles was a lifelong Sulphur resident who served his country in the United States Army. He began his career in business at a young age. Along with his parents, he owned and operated Fisherman’s Headquarters in Carlyss for 48 years before selling in 2010. Charles owned National Amusements for 35 years, as well as being involved in other business endeavors. He will be remembered for his calm nature and generosity. On April 8, 1989 he married his beloved, Suzie, and they enjoyed each other’s company, spending their time together traveling and tending to business matters. He was an avid sports fan, especially the LSU Tigers.
Survivors include his loving wife of 26 years, Suzie Carr;
stepson, Robert Whittredge and wife Torrie and their daughter Alexis Kelton, all of Spring, TX; and brother-in-law, Alan Foreman and wife Roxanne and their sons, Eric and Joshua,
all of Cumberland, MD. He is preceded in death by
his parents, Clifton “Bill” and Lelia Lyons Carr.
Visitation will be held from 2 – 6pm Wednesday, April 8, 2015 in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Ceremony at 6 pm. Jody Barrilleaux will officiate.
