

Francis was a resident of the Sulphur area most of her life. She spent the last fifteen years in Texas where she enjoyed her career as Coordinator of Student Services for Lamar Institute of Technology. She touched the lives of students by helping to guide and encourage them in their education and career endeavors. She loved cooking, painting, needle point, working in her garden, and being outdoors. She also cherished spending time with her family, friends, and especially her grandkids.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Wayne Crawford of Orange, Tx; a son, Sean Patrick Bruce of Hackberry; three grandchildren, Kameron Paul Bruce of Sulphur; Avery Lynn-Marie Bruce and Braedon Lee Bruce both of Hackberry; five step-children, James Donald Crawford, Joseph Dean Crawford, and wife, Tanya, Jeremy Dale Crawford, Ginger Leigh Crawford all of Fannett, Texas, and Jeffery Daniel Crawford and wife, Bobbie of Lumberton, Texas; five step-grandchildren, Alex Crawford of Hempstead, Texas, Faith Madison Crawford, Isaiah Crawford both of Fannett, Texas, Madison Crawford and Jeffery "Lil Jeff" Crawford both of Lumberton, Texas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Mary Crawford of Sulphur; three sisters, Beverly Petross and husband, Jerry of Sulphur, Debbie Elkins of Tampa, Florida, and Alesia Compton and husband, Arvin of Sulphur; two brothers, Dean Hinton and wife, Judy of Sulphur, and Rodney Hinton of Quitman, La; three brothers-in-law, James Crawford and wife, Virginia of Spring, Texas, Charles Crawford of Sulphur, and Ricky Crawford and wife, Maria Fe of Conroe, Texas; sister-in-law, Barbara Crawford of Sulphur; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Shannon Paul Bruce, and her parents, Sidney and Nellie Hinton.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Chapel with Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
