He was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur where he was a graduate of Parkview Christian School. Dennis was a U.S. Army veteran and member of V.F.W. Post #8107 and Local #406. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at the camp on the river. He will be remembered as a gentle giant that always took care of others.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer McKnight of Sulphur; his children, Dennis Dwight McKnight, III of Sulphur, Christin McKnight of Cochran, Georgia, Tyler McKnight of Sulphur, and Hailey Winslow of Sulphur; his father, Dennis McKnight, Sr. and wife, Jackie of Oretta; his mother, Evelyn Spell and husband, Bruce of Sulphur; his siblings, Cindy, Michael, James Lee, Blaine, Terri, and Mark; his granddaughter who was the light of his life, Elora McKnight; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Winona McKnight, and David and Margaret Ray; and a niece, Santana Miller.
His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 17, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Rodney Paul Mazilly and Harry Methvin will officiate.
