Eugene was born on January 20, 1945 at sunset to parents Saul Joseph and Mary Doris Ledger in Sulphur, LA.
He lived his whole life in Sulphur, Louisiana. Eugene was in the United States Army and served during Vietnam . He went on to work for Hixson-Funeral home as a Funeral Director beginning in 1970. Gene was of the Baptist faith, and he was an active member of Parkview Baptist Church. He was a member of VFW and The American Legion. Everyone who knew Eugene would tell you he was a jokester and never met a stranger.
Gene was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kitty Ledger; parents, Saul and Mary Ledger; and daughter, Regina Ledger Vincent.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Boyce Ledger of Sulphur, LA and Lacy Ledger of Sulphur, LA; Daughters, Christy Ledger of Sulphur, LA. and Michelle Watson of Sulphur, LA; Brother, Rickey Ledger of Edgerly, LA ; Numerous Grandchildren, and one Great–Grandchild.
Services will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial. The visitation will begin at 5:30PM on Friday April 1,2022 until 8pm and will resume on Saturday April 2, 2022 at 9am. The funeral service will begin at 11am Saturday April 2, 2022 led by Rev. Vince Guidry. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Sulphur.
