Fern Marie Godeaux

She was a native of Welsh and had been a resident of Vinton for the last 52 years, coming from Sulphur. Fern was a previous member of the Calcasieu Street Rodders Club. She worked for many years as a florist for Augustine's Florist in Vinton and also Louis Florist and Gifts in Lake Charles. She enjoyed flower arranging and sewing.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Hubert Godeaux of Vinton; her children, Nathan Godeaux of Vinton, Patrick Godeaux and wife, Anne of Lake Charles, and Donna Lynn Godeaux and husband, Kenny Engel of Marrero; her grandchildren, Nickie Newcomb, Bryan Clark and fiance', Cara Becker, and Savannah Vegoren and husband, Alan; and nine great-grandchildren, Armon, Alani, Amelia, Kayden, Oakley, and Tatum Vegoren, and Ian, Billy Ray, and Elizabeth Newcomb. She is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Mary Godeaux; her siblings, John, Harry, Grady, Lesby, and Melvin Guillory, Beulah Sonnier, Cladys Chaisson, Rena Bray, Mable Bergeaux, Emma Chaisson, and Florence Granger; and a grandson, Patrick "Bubba" Godeaux, Jr.

Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Sherman Guillory will officiate.
