Gerald "Jerry" Ivy Bergeron Sr., 75, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024. He was born to his late parents, Le'Roy and Melba Bergeron on June 30, 1948 in Oberlin, Louisiana. He was proud of his service in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed painting, playing pool in a pool league, and was also a horse trainer by trade. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandbabies.
He is survived by Gerald Ivy Bergeron, Jr. of Lafayette, Louisiana, Curtis Bergeron (Danica) of Westlake, Louisiana, Aundra Fontenot (Cory) of Moss Bluff, Louisiana, Amanda Dayvolt of Harvest, Alabama, Reba Ann Bergeron of Moss Bluff, Louisiana, Timothy Bergeron of Westlake, Louisiana, Belinda Miller of DeQuincy, Louisiana; twenty two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Rita Ann Bergeron.
A Celebration of Jerry's life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 11:00 am, with Hixson Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux. Visitation will be on Saturday at 10:00 am, with a Rosary at 10:30 am, followed by the service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery in Westlake, Louisiana.
