Helen was a native of Beaumont, Tx, and lived in Sulphur over 50 years. She attended the First Baptist Church of Maplewood. She enjoyed arts, and crafts and working in her flower beds.
Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Alva E. English; children , Gregory English and his wife Jean, of Sulphur, Sharyn Stanley and her husband Pat, of Sulphur, and Phillip English and his wife Judy, of Sulphur; sister, Sarah Stark and her husband G.R., of Beaumont; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Reginald Shook, Richard Phillips, Bill Phillips and Omar Phillips.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 15, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Ronnie Burke will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, all in the funeral home.
