Helen was born December 30, 1927 in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Joseph Evelise Broussard and Eugenia Ledet Broussard. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and wonderful role model as she was a strong and talented woman who would tackle almost anything – from refinishing and upholstering furniture, cleaning carburetors, finishing sheetrock, to repairing small appliances, in addition to being an extremely talented seamstress, needle worker, and quilter.
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sanfred (Sam) Trahan, her parents, sister Marjorie Broussard Lauchner and son-in-law Tim Carroll.
Helen is survived by her daughter Arlene Carroll and grandsons Sean Carroll and Scott Carroll.
The family is especially grateful to her wonderful caregivers, Carolyn Rucker, Rolanda Johnson, Jasmine Johnson, Paula West, and Brione Thompson.
