

He was a native of Lake Charles and had been a resident of Florien for over 15 years, moving from Carlyss. Fuzzy lived life to it's fullest, having earned his pilot's license, operating a shrimp boat, and had enjoyed racing motorcycles and boats. He held the record for the largest "Jew Fish" in the Southwest Louisiana Fishing Rodeo for 50 years, which still has not been broken. He was a member of Local #79 Boilermakers Union, a lifetime member of the N.R.A., and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his daugher, Becky Fuselier of Carlyss; and his three grandchildren, Dalvas K. Fuselier of Tucson, Arizona, Devin S. Fuselier of Lake Charles, and Kristen R. Fuselier of Carlyss. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lula Mae Welsh; and his parents, Lawrence Kinder Welsh and Ida Irene Higgins Welsh.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sallier Cemetery in Lake Charles. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Monday with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Leesville, 106 East Lula Street, Leesville, LA 71446.
