Jerry was a native of Shallowater, Texas and had been a resident of Carlyss and formerly of Westlake for many years. He had begun his adulthood as a farmer and then went to school to learn business. He became a valued employee and eventually opened his own business which was a success. He worked for many years with Interstate Securities in Guymon, Oklahoma, Beaumont, Texas, and Lake Charles before starting Simpson Insurance Agency in Lake Charles and Moss Bluff which he owned and operated for 33 years. He had even become a Pastor in the Lubbock, Texas area. Jerry enjoyed gardening and also wood working with his wife, participating in several craft shows. He was a loving son and father. He took his children to church, camping, fishing, and taught them all to be dependable, God-loving, and self-sufficient adults, and he will be missed until we meet again.
